Actua Soccer is part of the Actua Sports video game series published by Gremlin Interactive which competed with Electronic Arts EA Sports label during the second half of the '90, until Gremlin was acquired by Infogrames. The game offers full-3D action taking advantage of the higher CPU-clocks and GPU-clocks demand at the time, and was initially released for the PC (DOS) in 1995 and a year later ported to Mac OS-based computers.

Review
Actua SoccerSTORY / GAMEPLAY
No story here. You just choose your favorite national team and start your streak playing matches in soccer stadiums from around the world, to win the World Championship title. The game features 44 national teams to choose from, players with 8 individual skill attributes each, and a full range of customized tournaments. It also offers multi-player options, either a two-player mode on the same-system or networked play! As long as you master the controls, everything goes rather smooth and the game is great fun.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The stadiums are greatly done and well colored, and players are moving nicely and fast around the pitch in a full 3D environment. The game requires a minimum of a 486DX 33 MHz with VGA graphics of 2 MB VRAM and at least 4 MB of RAM to get it started.
When running with 4 MB of RAM, the game offers a typical "soccer game" sound consisted of crowd wows plus some in-match sound FX (ref whistling etc). But in 8 MB of RAM, the game offers a full flowing commentary over the top by BBC commentator Barry Davies!
